Dave is The Partnering Initiative’s Creative Director. He brings 20 years’ diverse international experience on sustainability and multi-stakeholder partnering, with a particular focus on the role of the private sector in sustainable development. His partnering work includes evaluation, research and analysis; the development of guidance and practical tools; and facilitation, training and public speaking.

He has worked with multiple partnerships in many contexts at global, regional and local levels, including in nutrition, water and sanitation, education, the extractive sector and renewable energy. These include the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement, Sanitation and Water for All and the Global Partnership for Education.

Title of talk: Why and how we collaborate best in times of crisis, and what we can learn from that

The COVID-19 pandemic has sparked a global crisis, throwing us into uncertainty and complexity at a depth and scale that is very unfamiliar. Our health, economic, political and social systems are being stretched out of their traditional shape. While uncertainty and complexity can drive fear and conflict, they also provide the perfect domain for collaborative efforts to test innovative solutions and find ways forward. In many countries individuals and organisations are rallying together, to play their part in “flattening the curve”. This talk explores why there appear to be more examples of collaboration during crisis times, and what we can learn from this to apply during ‘normal’ times. Read more here
